Dali Museum Tour

A Salvador Dali Day

Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali was born in Figueres, Catalonia Spain in 1904. Dali is best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist artwork. Dali was said to have produced more than 1,500 paintings along with illustrations for books and lithographs. Dali had a big imagination and indulged in unusual behavior from time to time. Sometime his outlandish behavior even drew more attention than his artwork. He also sculpted. The surrealist artist Edward James commissioned two of his more famous pieces, the Lobster Telephone and Mae West Lips Sofa, completed in 1936 and 1937.
